I know a few:
Around the world- you see who can do a complete ciricle in the saddle the fastest

Musical stalls- You set up cavaletties so one a horse and walk in and out both ends looks like this l l l l l l l l l and music plays everyone walks or trorts around the ring music stops and everone gets inbetween on of the cavaletties as fast as possible. You take one away so the person left with out a stal is out. This game can be alot of fun with experienced riders because you get people galloping for stopts.

oooooooh! Devilish , i really want to play musical stalls.

When playing around the world -make sure that someone is holding your pony!!!!!

i made the mistake of not doing this and ended up sitting backwards as my pony took off, full pelt round the school, with me still sitting backwards.
Mind you i mannaged to stay on till a few good bucks threw me off!

i'll think of a few games and come back to you.

Babs, it sounds like you'll never play that game again. Musical stals can be a lot of fun and really competitive too. Just make sure you aren't too competitive like my friends and i. We almost kill eachother but it's all for fun.

devilish

well, i haven't played it since, not that i wouldn't, i would, but not unless some one was holding my horse!

anyway, horse games
we played something called cushion polo once.
you need two teams of players.
one person has to be in 'goal' in each team and you need a referee/umpire.

you get a small cushion (approx 12"x12) the umpire thows it in the air one of the teams captain have to catch it and then the game starts.

Basically the object is to get the cushion into goal, but you are not allowed to carry the cushion in your hand or your teeth.
you may pass the cushion to another team player but you ay not travel with it.
once you have the cushion, you must put it under your leg/knee/thigh before moving.
members otf the other team may take the cushion from you by coming up along side you and grabbing the cushion from under your leg.

You have say 6 'chukas' an each chuka lasts say 5 minutes.
If anyone drops the cushion they get penality points for there team, he same applies if anyone falls off.
you are not allowed to bump each others horses.

EAch member of each team will 'mark' another member - kind like in basket ball i think.
THen you get points for each goal you score.

before i describe anymore games, have i made sense describing this one?

I just though of another one!
Dollar bareback- this game works on muscle and is fun. You get a hore and leave the sadlle off. You take a dollar bill and put it under your knee. You have one person in the middle telling you all what to do like walk trot canter. You can't touch the dollar with your hands. If you lose your dollar them your out. It isharder than it sounds. Once I got so far that it was down to me and one other person and we had to start putting jups up to make it harder. This game is fun too. Oh and the winner gets all the dollars that fell off when people got out.

chase me charlie

i think thats what it was called?
you get some small barrels/cannisters/blocks approx 12-18 inches long
put them in a row like this we usually start with 5 or 6.

then each person in turn jumps them. if you go clear you are in to the next round. once every body has had a turn a barrel gets taken away.
(usually each person gets 3 lives- each refusal, or if the barrel gets knocked out of place costs you a life.)

eventually you hopefully get down to jumping over one barrell (its harder than it looks)
the winner is the one who can jump over the least amount of barrels or if more thanone person is down to the same number of barrels, the winner is the one with the most lives left.
