The Boot Race:

Type: Relay

Players: The more the better.
Equipment: A wheelbarrow, or something that will hold a lot of boots. If you have a small amount of players, getting a large blanket to put on top of the boots will add an extra chellenge into the game.

Game play:

Players are divided into two even teams. Each player on each team takes off his/her right boot, and hands it to the Game Organiser/Referee person. The Referee person puts the boots into the wheelbarrow, and takes it down to the other end of the arena. The players race each other to the end of the arena, have to get off, go get their boot, put it back on, get back on their horse, and ride back. Whoever's team has all their boots back on first, wins.
Oh yeah, it is a relay, so as soon as the first player is back, the next player goes, and so on. It can be done with one horse divided between all team mates, or with each person getting their own horse.

breaking gaits: Really simple you have on person call out commands, walk, every1 walks, canter every1 canters, hault every1 stops. You have 3 seconds to get into each stage. If your cantering and the person yells trot and ur still cantering atfer 3 seconds then ur out. same if ur walking or trotting ur w/e

edit: oh and red light, green light is fun lol

i dont know how hard this would be lol but you could take a spoon and put a hard boiled egg on it. then put the handle of the spoon in your mouth and then have the riders walk trot and canter, until only 1 person is left with their egg

We used to do a baton race. You can have as many people on a team as you want. First person is holding the baton, runs down and turns a barrel or pole, runs back hands it off to the next person. Lots of fun, but I've also seen horses collide when handing off the baton.

Well... I just thought of a few!

Set up some jumps (haybales, preferably) and see who can jump perfectly from a standstill on each one. ^_^ You know, walk to first, stop, jump, walk to second, stop, jump.

Then you can ride in pairs or in threes and see what team can go over the jumps at the same time...

And I know the egg one where you see who can keep the egg on the spoon racing back and forth... lol... I wish I could try these, but I have no one to ride with.

We use to play games were we had cones set out across a field there would be a line so the teams wouldnt go into the other teams area but each team had 5 ccones with 5 flags in them or how many people are on each team and they wuld be scarrtered again across the field and it went in order a person would gallop to get a flag grab it while still moving and gallop back and they would have to hold the person who just wents flag and would have to get his flag so by the end the last person would have to hold 5 flags and if you dropped it you would have to get off and grab it. It was actually really hard lol. Onther one was we would have to drop potaoes into buckets while speding past them. Lol we actaully did obstacle coarse were we would run with are horses on stepping stones throw little balls into hoops and just all sorts of wierd stuff one time we thought we should pop ballons filled with water while on are horses that one didnt work out to well lol. Well theres some of them. We played dress up were we would gallop to one side get drressed in old clothes gallop back and undress then after we were undressed the next person would go. Its alot of fun. You guyz will have so much fun

My fave is the weiner race!!! lol. mYou hang a hot dog from a pole on one end and you Race to the end, Take a bite of the hot dog (hard because it is swinging around an you have to get under it, ha ha) and you run back, Best time wins!!
