galloping boots=tendon boots sorry its really hard to explain stuff w/ all the different countries on here!!! whats better tendon boots or open front jumping boots and is there a difference

I use the eskadron cross country tendon boots for show jumping - they are not open fronted - I am not too keen on the open fronted ones. Woof also makes a nice full tendon boot for jumping

but what purpose do they serve?? like would they be good support for 4ft courses or are polo wraps ok for that?
