Unhappy Gahh...Getting so frusterated...please help!

*THE EDIT BUTTON IS NOT TO BE USED FOR DELETING POSTS*

One of the mares I am working with only knows one gait...TROT. It seems like she was never taught to just walk. If I try to pull her back from the trot she starts doing half rears and little crow hops...she also looks like she has rabies because her mouth foams so badly and she breaks out in a really wet sweat even though we are doing just light work (as in trying to keep at a walk) I feel terrible pulling on her mouth all the time, but if i give her even the slighest release on the bit she will absolutely take off. and it isn't just a nice smooth western jog type of trot...it is break neck speed better hold on or bounced off type of trot....posting...even at a slower rate only makes her go faster. by the way i ride english. anyways, should i try a different bit? i put up a pic of the one i am using now...anyways ...i am open to any suggestions to help this mare S L O W D OW N!

Maybe try a twisted full cheek ? Ive only used one once, and it was on a very hard pulling horse. Maybe even a hackamore?

Maybe you should go back to the basics on the lunge line. Teach her WALK and WHOA from the ground. Switching bits might help, short term.

believe me...i have been lunging, lunging, lunging and using voice commands. when i ask her to walk on the lunge line she will usually rear or start snorting and try to bolt. i was told she was pro trained..but...she doesn't seem to have a very good foundation. she has gotten away with a lot. maybe i should just start her over...

Have you tried making Christmas bows on her. What I called them for lesson folks. Every time horse would speed up, would have them come off rail in small circle and come back to same spot and continue on. May have to do a few times, but generally if horse very smart will figure out more work.

One rein, put her on a circle, quietly, and make it smaller and smaller (pretty quickly if necessary, don't just let her trot around and round a 20m circle) until she walks. Then let her walk straight again.

Repeat as often as necessary.

Do not trot until she will walk for as long as you ask her to.

Do you own this horse and for how long have you had it?

Retraining is needed, and it should be done by a trainer, one that has a vast amount of exeprience in correcting issue like this.
I hope this insight helps.

What about...doing what she wants if she wants to go fast then make her lope...and lope her and lope her and lope her until you can tell she just wants to slow down and even at that lope her some more.... does she know one rein stops?

I agree with the circle idea.
A horse that has no speed control is just choosing the speed that they want to go and by allowing that you become a passenger.
