Probably not bots this time of year. If the spots loose the hair and have flakey skin on them, it will probably help. Just depends on what it is. Could it be rain rot? Either way, it will not hurt to try it.

It will probably not work then. When the scabs come off does hair come off with them and is it raw underneath? If so, I would guess rain rot or ticks.

Looks like we are playing tag. You should use Iodine shampoo. Brush the area and knock the top off of it, wet the area and then apply the shampoo directly onto the area. Work it in good and then rinse. It will take a couple of times.

Any Iodine Shampoo will work fine. The antibacterial shampoo will also help. If you do not have either, you can mix a little bleach in water and apply. A lot of people get upset when someone mentions bleach but a mild solution is okay if you only use it a couple of times.
