Fun day today...(vauliting clinic!!!)

Today was awesome! I went to a vaulting clinic today! It started at 9AM and went till like one. We learned to kneel, stand, and other really cool movements like 'sissors'. Then we got to try it on a 21 year old Morgan. She was SOO pretty and really really good. She has gourgeous movement! I had trouble doing the mounting when you use pull your self up, but I got it OKAY in the end. I had the best time though and learned so much!~ It was so fun when I was on. I stood on her while she trotted and walked, and I did a movement that I forgot what it was called, taht you kinda lay down and then swing your legs back and over the back of the horse. You can either do it as a movment and go back on the horse, or do a dismount. I did both and it was amazing! The instructor said we all did really well and that usually kids didnt get to the trotting level so quick! My friend Liz was diffenatly the best, she looked like she had been doing it her whole life. Shes very flexable and coordinated!! It was so great. We are starting our own team, and maybe even throwing a small show at our barn this summer against other vaulting teams. She invited use to go to her facility and work with them and watch her more advanced students. I am soo excited. I never that I would like doing taht kind of stuff, much less be able to, but it was amazing~!!

Who put on the clinic? Just wondering cus I am a 4h Leader for Kent county and we just got a new club that is a vaulting club this year. We are really excited about it and they are doing a presentation for our fair this summer.

Perhaps it is the same club or if now I would be interested in knowing so I could pass the info on this club cus theya re looking for more people in MI that are into the sport of vaulting.

Thats awesome. I dont know the name of the lady, but I can find out, I will PM you like monday and let you know. Next time I am out there I will grab a flyer of hers. I really like the lady that put on the clinic. She was really nice and super helpful. I will let you know. the lady taht is running it used be my instructor. She is great, but she doesnt know much about vaulting, so I think she would love it if we could maybe all meet one day and work on stuff, and then she can learn how to teach us. She is coming back in a month or so again. She would have come sooner but she has a few demenstrations and competions coming up. I am already looking forward to it!!!!!

Thanks, that would be great. I just know that the lady I know is looking for anyone that is interested in this state and is into it. She just moved here from Germany about a year ago and is really trying to promote Vaulting in MI, she would like to promote it more to the entire country as well. She did a lot of vaulting in Germany and is using the skills she learned growing up over there to help kids in our area that don't have horses but still want to become involved with them some how. She is also incorporating kids with disabilites into her group and hopes to give them simple parts (with help) in some of their routines. She feels it would be great from their self esteem and thier therapy. She does work fro Kent Special Rididng Program (theraputic clinic) and wants some of those kids to become involved as well.

Vaulting has always impressed me. No one around my area teaches it, though.

I know taht the lady is located in South Lyon....and I think her name is chris. I mentioned it to Alisa Denny, a horse dealer here in MI. My friend knows her and I got to meet her yesterday. She told me that was her name she thought. I will find out the name of the place soon. Also, You know it would be awesome if all of us as a group (well the german lady and her group) got together sometime to work on it.
