Free Lease in South Dakota

Sammy is getting FAT. I'm not sure the new saddle will even fit him anymore.

Since I won't go down on his purchase price and the market says I am over priced, I am thinking he is here to stay.

So with that said, I would like to offer a free lease on him. I can keep him here if the person doesn't have a place to keep him. I would prefer that he goes to the leasee's home, but staying here is an option.

Sammy was purchased as beginner safe, but he did throw me from a pinching saddle. I would prefer and intermediate rider, because he has sat all winter and Spring. I only had 5 rides on him when the saddle incident happened.

If he stays here, buddy sour issues need to be delt with. I am a very beginner rider and was able to handle him. An intermediate rider would probably find his stuborness to leave to be laughable.

I am not advertising this anywhere else. I want the person to takes him to be aware of EVERYTHING that has happened with him. I am also emailed friends who might be interested. But most of them are at my level of riding.

Located by Sioux Falls South Dakota, in the small town of Valley Springs.

We were just up to Brookings SD in June for my husbands nephiews graduation. His sister took my horse crazy 14 year old to visit the college up there at SDSU. The are starting an equestrian center. I just got to wondering after reading your post if they might like to work with him? Just a thought i don't know. He could teach students some things and get taughter a few things him self. Ya never know....There might even be a college or equestrian center or a lesson stable closer.

Great idea, but I would think they would want him longer than just the summer.

I live only 15 minutes from the I29 and I90 junction! Next time you are on your way up here, you are welcome to stop by for a break. Brookings is only an hour from here, so not really a great resting point. LOL

But it would be fun to have you come visit anyway.

Wow, that is crazy that you live so close to them. We really wanted to go out with the horses to the bad lands and the black hills this year, but just not working out. One kid in drivers ed wanting to buy a car, so working walking dogs at the vet clinic, has half the money saved up for the el camino. The dog got stepped on by a hrose so had to have its leg amputated, so now owe money there. Deseil prices are going crazy. so I guess we will not go that far this year, plus I am trying to sell 2 of mine to pay for all this stuff and not have so much hay to buy for the winter. I am sure you know the challenges with your horses and injury. What to do, you love them but cripes sometimes cant afford them.

OOHHH, we should go together next year to the hills!! We could stay at custer horse camp.

I do know the price of gas has prevented us from doing all kinds of stuff. Well, my leg too. But even before my leg, we cancelled all long distance trips.

We have never camped with our horses before, so wanted to do it closer before heading out to the hills. But if you are game, I would be happy to jump in and give it a try.

It would have to be next Spring though. Stupid leg.

Sounds like a plan! Would love to. We have gone horse camping to several places in Iowa, but not out of state. Will need to get the guys coggins. My crazy daughter thought it would be fun to round up buffalo in custer. What ever! I don't think so!

I know its a LONG ways away. But I haven't much else to do but think about stuff. LOL

We should pick a date, then I can make reservations. We don't have the extra fee because we live in state. You can just re-imburse me for the camping fee then. That way we will be side by side too.

I'm so excited! Do you think its too soon to start a thread asking if anyone else wants to come. LOL I know it is, but geez, its so much fun to think about.

Let me know a date. I am thinking the first part of June, end of May. It is still pretty cold then, but at least its not busy and I would rather ride in the cold than the heat.

We went the first week of June last year and the weather was 60's and 70's. The very next week it was 90's. The black hills has weather of its own.

You never know on rain either. 6 years ago we went that same time frame and had one day of rain, rest were sunny. Last year it drizzled a little everyday, but not enough to stop us from doing things. It did rain hard for 2 days off an on.

When do your kids get out of school?
