I think its a good idea but also a bad idea. As long as the owners check where their horses are going to I guess things would be fine.. But not everyone is like that.

He looks like a super cutie though!

I couldn't afford to keep my old boy anymore, prices just kept going up and as he wasn't ridden I made the decision to give him away.

I drive past where he is every now and again and he is looking really good.

Here in NM it's on the news. People left and right calling the animal control to come get their horses cause they can't afford to feed them any more.

I've been given 3 horses for free over the years all mares that fit into our program. I can't even guess how many we've turned away the past two years I know its over 15. If they can't pay their way we just can't use them

I bet a lot of those horses owners screen people rather carefully. I have never SOLD a horse, but I have given two of them away. One was returned back to me, and the other is currently out loving life in her new home (under the condition that I have first option for her back if the time ever comes). I think that's a neat website, as long as the people who care about their horses DO take the time to properly screen prospective owners/new homes.
