I think its a good idea but also a bad idea. As long as the owners check where their horses are going to I guess things would be fine.. But not everyone is like that. He looks like a super cutie though!

I couldn't afford to keep my old boy anymore, prices just kept going up and as he wasn't ridden I made the decision to give him away. I drive past where he is every now and again and he is looking really good. |

Here in NM it's on the news. People left and right calling the animal control to come get their horses cause they can't afford to feed them any more. http://kob.com/article/stories/S502190.shtml?cat=520 You're just gonna keep seeing more and more if it.

I've been given 3 horses for free over the years all mares that fit into our program. I can't even guess how many we've turned away the past two years I know its over 15. If they can't pay their way we just can't use them

I bet a lot of those horses owners screen people rather carefully. I have never SOLD a horse, but I have given two of them away. One was returned back to me, and the other is currently out loving life in her new home (under the condition that I have first option for her back if the time ever comes). I think that's a neat website, as long as the people who care about their horses DO take the time to properly screen prospective owners/new homes.
