Free horse to good home in Iowa

I have a little rescue horse that we have been getting well for a month and he is better and ready for a new home! He is a little 4 year old QH gelding. When we got him his halter was grown into his face, he had worms bad, and lice like you can not believe. We have womed him several times, and de liced him. We were told he was 4, but he is so stunted from I am sure bad worm load/conditions/no food that he looks 2. I do not know if he will grow. I measured him at 14 hands. He was so skinny patethitic and weak, you woudl be sick. We were told that he was not broke. my crazy daughter threw on a saddle on bridle and he did not even offer a buck, he was still weak, but still nothing. He did not know what to do, but she did get him to go in a circle and straight, and into a trot. I think he will be a cute sweet little thing. Please, if you want him or know of anybody that wants a little horse project that wouod give him a GOOD home where he will not be abused, let me know. I have not had the farrier look at him or given him vaccinations, I wanted him to get stronger so that he could handle the vaccionations first. Here is a link to pictures. http://picasaweb.google.com/pianoismy4tay/Forrest He is affectionate, easy to catch, comes right up to you, easy to halter, follows along being lead like a dog. Loves to be groomed. I willg et more recent picture so you can see the improvement. He eats ALL the time. I fell so bad for him, he looks so dinky next to our well cared for horses.

Yes, I hope so too, I think he will make a sweet horse, i think he is so thankful that he can eat at any time and not have the lice bothering him. right now is not a good time to be selling, especially in his condition, and i will never take him to auction, I am too afraid of what might happen. I know the right person will be out there that is looking for a new friend.

Oh my goodness! How wonderful of you to take him in & help him. I HAVE AN IDEA for a home for him....A friend is looking for a sweet calm horse for his granddaughter, and would be a great home for him! I will get ahold of him and get back to you.

Are those pix from when you first got him or when?

He was from somewhere by Des Moines Iowa. He is only 14 hands and a registered QH. They say his papers are in the mail, so I do not know his breeding.

I know these are not very good too far away. i will close ups tonight. I took these from our front porch in my pjs. i am way lazy in the morning! I was yelling at them hoping that they would come closer or at least raise their heads, just got the attention of one, and not the right one.

But you can he is smaller he is standing by a 15.2 hand either ASB or tWh, i cant tell they are both black. He is the sorrell one, i think he will be more chesnut when he sheds out, and gets healthy.
