Freak Storms/Power Outage

Yesterday my area (The Antelope Valley) had some really freaky weather. My private office is right on the border between two cities: Lancaster and Palmdale. On the Lancaster side it was thundering and lightening and horribly windy. On the Palmdale side...NOTHING. On the news last night it showed flash floods and downed power lines in Lancaster. Lightening caused some brush fires too. Wierd. Then last night, while sleeping, the power went out in my house...I live about 25 miles out of Palmdale. I thought I'd get the day off...didn't want to leave with no power. But, I swear...at 5:30 AM...just when I get up...the power went on!!! What a drag!!!!

Well when one grumples about going to work (especially one like yourself who earns the big bucks)
when they complain about going to work, thats whining.....

Yesterday the electricity kept fading out. A couple of times the computers turned off so I decided it was better to shut them down. Today it's windy. What happens is so many of the big power lines are so worn out that all that humidity gets in them and messes with them. You can actually hear all the buzzing and shorting out if you stand close enough...but not too close.

Big bucks? That's a laugh! I work for the State of California. And I'm a social worker!
