I have seen several articles/videos etc and people think that he's the Biblical Antichrist. He's supposed to be of Middle Eastern descent, attractive, young, well-spoken, comes out of nowhere, gains power by promising peace and prosperity and equality.

Who says he lied? He claims to be a Christian, and there is no evidence to the contrary. What is in his heart is something only he (and God, if you believe) knows--just as what's in your heart is something only you know. We only know what you tell us and what your actions tell us about your faith, and we know the same for Obama. He claims Christianity, and his actions don't belie this.

Actually, Hitler was confirmed in the church. This is NOT left out of history books. That said, anyone familiar with German culture will know that confirmation is a rite of passage through which most people go. It's a big event, with the class having its picture in the paper, gifts, etc--much like a graduation or a Sweet 16. My cousin was confirmed, and he's a hard core atheist. He left the church officially when he had to pay church tax. So to say Hitler was a Christian is misleading. Indications are that he worshipped pagan gods (Wotan, for one), but again, only he knows what was in his heart. His actions DO belie Christianity (and he was known to make derogatory statements toward, impose restrictions on and even persecute the church.

Incidentally, Hitler was about as Christian as some radical terrorists are Muslim--in name only. Hitler perpetuated the Holocaust by saying the Jews were Christ killers (among many other things--and never mind that Jesus himself was Jewish). He distorted Christianity to fit his agenda. Bin Laden and those like him do the same to Islam.

This whole thread is just disgusting. Who cares if he's Muslim or Christian? Who cares if he presented himself as Christian but is privately practicing Islam? IMO, that reflects poorly on the US, not Obama.

I do not like President Obama and most of what he stands for.

I do think that the video of him speaking of "his Muslim faith" was a slip that any of us could make.

I do not believe he's a Christian from former interviews he's done where he states he's a Christian but does not believe in the central tenants of the faith.

Why does this matter? Because, as a Christian, if someone states that they are a Christian, I would expect that they would have the same basic core beliefs I have and he does not. I'd rather that there be someone in the White House that is a true Christian but I'd take one who is not a Christian yet has the same other values as me over someone who claims to be a Christian yet goes against the values I believe in.

Unfortunately, there are those who say that President Obama has claimed to be a Christian and so figure anything he says and does is great. They turn off their brains instead of being like the Bereans in the Bible and test everything that they hear against the Scriptures. That's not a healthy thing at all.

It's fairly obvious to anyone that america is no where near ready to elect a non christian leader of any type....If he IS muslim(which I doubt), it's certainly not his fault that our country is SO prejudiced that he has to lie about his religion to be considered a serious political contender.

That reflects on our country and culture, not him.
