With my first child I rode again in 2 weeks even though I really didn't feel like it, it was killing me to not ride. My mother yelled at me of course, she thought I was insane. I was riding the old gelding I grew up on, and I only walked to please my mother

With my second child it was a bit longer, mainly because I had a newborn and a 2 yr old..there was NO time.

Same with my third child, lack of time kept out of the saddle for about 8 weeks.

I think if your feeling OK and there is no chance of you taking a spill it would be OK...but this is my own opinion. The doctors will tell you no way of course. The main thing is to stay safe and take no chances on getting hurt.

whenever you feel it's right!

a c-section may sideline a mom longer, or soreness from natural birth may linger. ride when you feel you are ready!

It took me about 2 months. My bones ached for a LONG time after giving birth. It is not an easy thing to do! Good luck. I hope everything goes well for you. It is Very Painful, but worth it.

Well, with my first kid, I was up within 2 weeks on my 2 yr old horse breaking him.

With my second, the day after I got out of the hospital.

It all depends on how bad, if you do, tear down there. And how long since you last rode your horse.

I rode my horse until I was due. Actually the day before I delivered I rode my horse. So it was VERY easy to get back on the horse 2 days later.

Good Luck!! How far along are you now?

AWWW, congrats on your new (soon here ) little one, is this your first?? Man, mine are now 12 and 9 years old, been awhile for me since I was in the delivery room. I was back in the saddle in about 3 weeks. Took it really slow the first few rides. Ask for a *sitz bath thingie* before you leave the hospital, I swear that is what sped my healing time up wink
