![]() | foals... Hi I read some where on here about foals that were bottle fed right after they were born so their moms could go surrogent another more expensive mares foal, and I was wondering if anyone could give me more information about this. I looked but couldn't find it again, sorry if I'm overlooking it. Thanks! |

| Senior Member+ | Their called nurse mare and it happeneds alot on our local TB farms. The foals get well taken care of and they come out really nice.Out of the three farms around here that do it.I think theres only been two foals that died in the last 6 years.

| Senior Member+ | There the ones that I was saying are well taken care of.They usually sell them piviatly to good homesThey really take good care of all their stock no matter what the terms. The foals that dont get sold usually stick around. The fillies are used for breeding and used as nurse mares, and the colts are gelded and used for ponying the TBs.

| Senior Member+ | I think there's someone on here that raises and adopts out those foals, but I can't remember who it is. If I find out I'll post it.

| Full Member | Hey Runnin Wild - I work for the Last Chance Corral. Last Chance Corral. We adopt out about 200 of these every spring. The farms that Crazy4Apps is talking about sound great - we get foals from really awful farms, most of them don't give two poops about the babies. If you have any questions you can PM me, I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. |
