now that< i've never seen any horse that had "dark" leg and white hooves....

Usually there is a "crease" of white right at the coronet band....

Blister's a freak. Looking at that picture... it looks like part of his hoof towards the back is white?

Allure has four white socks and ermine spots, and all of her hooves are striped.

Your best bet is to wet down her legs. Then you'll be able to see where the white ends. I would think that if all four hooves are white, she'll have some white on all four legs.

This other yearling at the barn (this really has nothing to do with it, I just thought it was kinda interesting) hes a black and white paint, and on his front knee he has a patch of black, so his hoof turned out stripped. I thought that was kind of interesting, seeing as the patch was so far away from the hoof itself.

Perlino white

This is the only time you can see the markings on a perlino
I did mess with the colors a bit to bring out more of her color hence why all colors come out so well.

homozygous black/creme and heterozygous agouti

You can still see color but it's lightening up fast

As they age.. good luck!

solsalia-
There sure do lighten up don't they!?
Very pretty markings. In the summer are they more noticable? How about when soaking wet?

She's a yearling this year, the last picture was taken of her in the fall, you can see definition between her mane where the color comes acrossed. I'm interested to see how she sheds out. My mom wanted her to be a buckskin, one creme gene to many!

New question. lol. So the baby now has a dark brown muzzel but a week or so ago it was a very light colour. Will she stay chestnut or might she turn to a darker colour. My friend owns her full brother. He was born chestnut and turned a nice dark bay.?

They start to get darker as they shed their baby fuzz.

As to your friend's foal... it was always a bay foal. Bays are born looking almost like chestnuts. If you look closely at them you can see the darker hairs on their legs. As they get older, the darker turns to black. I'll see if I can find pics.
