Fly Spray uh oh

I just made fly spray with one cup vinegar, one cup skin so soft, a tablespoon of dish soap, and the rest water. I just read about chemical burns. Is this too strong?

p.s. i will probably add a bit of bronco as it gets used

Whats in there that you think would burn? SSS is mostly mineral oil.

nOpe, you are fine. Dont worry. While vinegar is acidic, you have diluted it plenty.

dish soap?? what does that do? and how well does the spray work? I'd like to try it!

Oh, and just to add, maybe you can replace the soap with citronella...or at least get dish soap that smells like it. I know the bugs definately don't like it. I dunno about the dish soap...I just don't like the sound of it...it's sticky (lol) and it would definately irritate my horse. But, I'm sure if it's dilluted well it'll be fine! Maybe you could also add garlic extract? I heard from one of the boarders that putting that in a fly spray concoction is great as well. I aslo heard that adding rubbing alcohol would help with bug bites in fly spray. I dunno lol.

I like your idea of doing this. Especially if it's more economical ^_~. And the skin so soft should really make your horse look and feel nice!

Dish soap is supposed to keep bugs and other things away. My dad sprays dish soap and water on the fruit trees to keep the birds and bugs away

. They don't like the taste or feel of it...and the smell since the kind my dad uses is citrus-y.
