Yes ma'am .
You can get it at a feed store/tack store. Or at a health food store like Sprouts. But, I've found that it's overall cheaper and in bigger quantities at feed stores. I THINK they sell it at Walmart, but I'm not very sure as to how good the quality of it is there. I've heard several times that BOSS (black oil sunflower seeds) are not as clean or as good of quality as the kind sold at basically any other store.

Thanks!
We dont have any of those stores over here, and Ive never seen flaxseed in tack shops either.Maybe Im going blind?

Plus there is a bulk food store not far from here which is where I was going to get it from.

flax seed and paprika

I started my mare on flax seed and paprika about a year ago and her coat is fantastic. I have people ask me all the time what I use to give her that "glow". I feed 1/4 cup of paprika and 3/4 cup of flax seed daily. I put the flax seed in her beet pulp so it soaks up the water and swells so it is utilized rather than fed through. I did a lot of research on nprices for bulk paprika and found an on-line store that is far cheaper than anywhere else. I buy 25#'s for $78 (including shipping) which makes it about $3.12 per #. They also sell it by the 5# size. The flax seed I buy at a local feed store by the 50# bag, about $40. All the horses that I have started on paprika love it, it always cracks me up to see their red muzzles as they are eating it.
I have attached before and after pics of my 3 year old QH mare, the before was taken 1 year ago when I bought her and the after was taken at our first show in April.

Here is the link for the paprika:

Hi Showie

Do your feed stores in NZ sell linseed? Thats what we have here in NSW. I boil the linseed along with barley and french white millet in a slow cooker every day...puts a real nice finish on the showhorses.

That's a good point. Over there, flaxseed is likely going to be marked as linseed. Same thing.
