| Senior Member+ | Flat soles?
We had a vet check done on the horse we are interested in and the vet said the only thing is that he has flat soles. The horse is a Percheron/Appy and the vet said it's common in draft horses. I haven't been able to reach my farrier yet and I'm just wondering if he will have to be constantly shod or trimmed differently?

Define "flat". The same depth of sole, say 3/8", is going to look a lot flatter on a draft than it will on a pony. But 3/8" is still the same distance off the ground at the apex of the frog, closer to the tip of the coffin bone, and where the measurement is taken.
