Flashy Little Cat x Vivas Scat Cat - Predictions??

So Cat is at about day 335. She looks less pregnant today that she did yesterday..lmao...not really - but she really doesn't look as far advanced as she should...not to me anyway.

She is a maiden mare. Until the past couple days she had the oddest looking bag that I have ever seen (not like I go around checking out the goods on lots of mares or anything) but hers looked like a perfect little tiny imitation of a pair of human store boughts....lol . Today it seems to have relaxed a little and looks more like the equine variety - but there is no milk and her nipple area is actually hard feeling. The baby, though obviously not real big, can be seen moving and seems to like to settle sitting way back into her flank area. She is really moody and visibly uncomfortable at times...but at other times she frolics and cuts up running and playing as if she were not toting around a whole 'nuther life!

So anyone want to take a wild guess when this little being will grace our presence and what it will be like when it gets here?

Here are some pics of her and her still girlish figure from Saturday:

I give it at least 10 more days. LOL My maiden is huge compared to yours and she is not due for at least a week. I cannot wait to see your foal~~~

I know! There are times when I look at her and just shake my head and say "your not pregnant, quit working the system!" - but other times when I am like, yeah she's pregnant...probably carrying a teacup poodle or a super big hamster....but pregnant none the less... .

I am actually shocked at the number of inquiries we are already getting on this little yet to be seen horse. One person even asked us to go ahead and give them a price......ummm, I don't know! BUt if we sell it by the pound it will be a really good deal .

And even more surprising, to me at least, is the interest from people that barrel race....but maybe this cross would make a good barrel racer, I don't know much about them. Dad and I were talking about it and to just rile him up I said something to the effect of....it may not be as tall as the barrels when it is full grown.....and his reply was, well it may not be a drum runner....it may be a bucket turner .

Whatever it is, I bet you it will be flashy. I am pretty sure the stud has that rabicano gene (I think that is what it is called) - lots of roany hairs and wild looking white markings and coon tails. Cat has a lot of white and I don't know what determines what - but I noticed that the white on her legs looks "webby" or "lacy" or something at the very bottom. Of course, I say that it will be flashy because of the parents and because of the other babies he has produced thus far - ours may not have a white hair on it.

I remember the first time I saw you post a pic of this mare. I love her.

I am going to guess April 30th. Can't wait to see that baby. Best wishes!

Thanks for the guesses - I am gonna say that it will be May before it comes. Physically she just doesn't appear to be preparing to foal. Behaviour wise though, she is cranky, stand offish from the other mares and when I turned them out this morning to their piles of hay she went over and stood alone by the fence with her head down.

Well according to dad's calculations and the way he predicts "due date" Cat was actually due yesterday....but I don't think she got the memo. There has been a little (very little) change in her bag size - but her nipples are still really hard and we are not able to get any milk (tried to get a few squirts to experiment with those pool pH strips).

Just wanted to give ya'll an update!
