Question Flash buckle?

When you do up your flash, where do you have the buckle? I leave mine under the chin groove. I notice it on the top or sides in some other people's pictures.

Does it matter?

I put it here:

(In this photo, the bottom keeper has moved. I try to have the keeper close to the bottom of the chin, so the flash wraps around.)

I do mine on the side so I can tuck the excess under the loop on the noseband. I do it do just the tip of the excess tucks under.. so I think that makes it on the lower side, that is what I was taught to do since I don't have the extra little keeper. Of course that would change if it was irritating the horse.

I do this when I have lost the second keeper... which is on about 1/2 of my bridles!

I just remembered another reason why I do mine backwards (I guess it would be backwards) is that when I walk them out with the flash undone the flash sometimes falls out, if you do it the other way, the buckle seems to go the middle and not fall out.
