| Senior Member+ | Here is a good page on mane care and braiding. The one you are talking about is called a continental braid. http://www.raspberryridge.com/Kids-Mane%20Care.htm

![]() ![]() | What are you doing this style of braid for? I personally do not like it for showing, I prefer banding or the typical hunter braids. It is really a preferance thing though, and how it looks and accents different horses necks. What type of neck does your horse have? Is his/her mane long enough to do these types of braids? Play around with braids to see what looks best on your horse, and which you prefer to do. |

| Senior Member | i did that braid for fair! It looked REALLY good on Apache. I think it depends on some horses though, like that horse in the article, i don't really like that on him/her. But everyone who walked by my stall stopped and said that it was BEAUTIFUL! it actually didn't take as long as I was thinking it would, it took me a half hour to 45 minutes at the MOST! So it didn't take too long. I also put Twinkle glitter in her mane and it was gorgeous! |
