First time roacher.

I've groomed up a roached mane before, but I have never actually done it before.

The horse I want to do it with has a somewhat thin mane. Is that okay?
Also, what do I use? Can you use scissors to do it?

Clippers are the best thing to use, a thin mane should be ok, some horses don't look all that good with a roached mane but if you are sure you want to do it go for it.

Ahh. We don't have any clippers. =/

I think he should look fine with it. He has the body and head of a QH, and they usually look good with it, in my opinion.

I always use scissors to do Boots mane, makes for a neater finish IMO.
But then I firmly believe that only drafts and heavy weight cobs should ever be roached or hogged at all. It looks AWFUL on anything lighter than draft type.

I think it does.

Lou3-

He's an Appendix QH / Welsh Cob. He looks like a fat, short QH with feathers.
