All of our polo ponies were always roached, and very few of them had a "draft horse build" but it always looked nice. Gives a very streamline look :]

Are you actually 'roaching' it or are you going to hog it?

The only time I didn't really like it was with an Anglo-Arab mare, but it still didn't look bad.

To me, at least...

Hogging is where you take it all off, flat to the crest.

Roaching is where you would leave a shaped ridge of hair to complement the neck.

Like the term 'roach backed' means to have a hump in the middle of the back...

I used scissors when I first roached Zephyr's mane, but now I use clippers since it's easier and faster. Scissors work great though
