First show in 4 years and a ribbon for DL and babytigger---video added.

I can't believe how cold it was. I was snowing a little farther north of us. Where we were it was off and on rain and some sleet.

So we arrived at the show grounds in good order and let the guy rest in the stall while BT and I checked out the grounds. It had been raining all week and last night so mud was being served up in bucketloads.

After tacking him up and a little lunge BT warmed him up over some jumps and we were ready to go in. There was an immediate jump off and BT forgot that she had to go again so I shouted out the order for the jump off and she made it through. So chalk up a 6th place for the guy and BT.

While we waited for the second class the heavens opened up and rained ( more sleet). The course was a mess and BT did her best but the poor guy slipped on approach to a jump and slid to a stop. Since it was just a straight speed class BT continued but lost a bit of her focus so no ribbon for this class as we could not make up time on ground that bad.

The third class was the nicest round but I think the guy was getting tired and pulled a rail so again no ribbon.

Just a bit of background. BT==babytigger my part boarder started to ride DL last Oct/Nov and mostly once a week with some missed rides. My guy hasn't been shown in 4 years and was so calm that no one even realized that a stallion was at the show. So all in all BT and DL did better than expected and I am proud of them.

Wow, your guy is looking fantastic. Is that your leasor riding?

All in all, it sounds like it was a great show (despite the cold weather). I'm glad DL is getting out and about again. I bet he enjoyed it too!
