First Ride Together * Photos added 16/8/07 on 2nd ride.. Pepper got the sack*

Raleigh and I went for a ride today. I spent about 45 mins attempting to catch Pepper (our aged bay mare) as she was in 'can't catch me mode' (Possum was.. ooh look food.. ooh look I'm caught.. Oh well - typical pony. Belly overrules brain). Pepper eventually let me catch her and I saddled both Pepper and Possum up (left Possum's rope halter on and lead rope under bridle) and plonked Raleigh on Possum and held onto the rope as I mounted Pepper. I kept Possum on my off side (was easier as I'm right handed) and went for about an hour and a half's trail ride (about 5km) just walking with Poss trotting every now and then to catch up to Pepper. Raleigh thought it was great as Mummy was riding too. She has been at me to ride with her for weeks but I don't quite trust Jack to pony Possum from (Jack likes to give Poss lovebites).

No photos as I coudn't steer horse, hold onto pony and work camera all at once. Maybe hubby can get some photos in the near future

I am sure she had fun too. Now you will have no excuse not to ride.

Darn you....I got so excited when I saw the title and was dying to see pics of the Possum/Raleigh team. **pouting**

So glad that you two had a nice mommy/daughter ride.

What a great way to spend the day and teach your daughter how to ride. We do need some pics. Get hubby busy.

When kids learn how to sit that pony trot, they can ride anything.

Raleigh is almost 2 1/2. She's a big girl for her age though (about the size of most 4yos).

Here is a link of some photos of her riding lead line yesterday.(for those that missed)
