First Blue Ribbon

My daughter won her first blue ribbon yesterday. She had a 4-H show. She did everything: showmanship, horsemanship, trail, reining, western riding, barrels, poles, and flags.

She got 2nd in SMS, 1st in HMS, 4th in WR, 6th in reining, 5th in trail. I don't remember how she placed in the gymkhana events.

She and Coal are really coming along great. She rode every day last week. I'm very proud of her!

I forgot my camera .

She wore a white hat, black chaps, and lilac top. Coal had a matching purple, lilac, and cream blanket. Lots of silver.

Aww, thats great! Sounds like she did a really good job!

Just curious, did they have flying lead changes in the WR pattern? I'm assuming she's young, and I can't see a young kid doing flying lead changes. Haha.

Thanks guys.

I just have to say that being a horse show mom is exhausting, but so much fun! It's much less work when I show LOL. At one point we had Emma up on a bucket and three of us were messing with her chaps. What a princess!

The judge told me before the show that a flying change was not required, but if one was done, then all the changes had to be flying. They either had to do all flying or all simple. I had Emma do simple changes. Coal knows how to do flying changes, but he gets a little hot sometimes when doing them.

To score the kids the judge started them with a 70. They got plus ones for correct lead changes (flying or simple.)
