Finally spoke to the rescue lady

I was planning to leave another message, but she answered the phone instead and it surprised me so much I almost chickened out, if you can believe that. But I worked up my nerve and just blurted it out and told her that he has got to go as soon as possible. His latest trick is trying to bite people, and he almost got my nephew in the face yesterday.
Anyway, she said that her truck needs brakes and she doesn't want to haul a horse with it until they are done, but to give her a day or two and she will get someone else to come get him.

And a little bonus... I found out that Midnight was wormed regularly, so I will be able to just put her on the regular worming schedule with everyone else and not worry about all that panacure power pack. I was really dreading that.

I'm glad the phone call is over. I was really dreading that.

No, this is a rescue horse that we are fostering. He's been trouble trouble trouble from day one. Look further down and read the post called "Dante's going back"

holey cow, i read the other posts that you wrote and i can see why you want to give him back! he just seems mean. like he knows he can do it so why not. my grandmas friend has a gelding who will be all fine one minute and then all of the sudden he will just be aggressive. i was in his pen petting him then he started pinning his ears back and turned around to kick me-i got out of his pen really fast. but anyways, did you stop riding him in the round pen? did those people ever come back and help you? well i got to go. good luck.

Ha! We never even STARTED riding him in the round pen. The closest that we came is that my son stood on one side of him in one stirrup. He is so swaybacked that really my son shouldn't even be riding him anyway. But we thought we'd let him up for just a minute to see how Dante tolerated someone sitting on his back. But because Dante is so wild, we couldn't even get that far. Nick just stood in one stirrup and kind of leaned over his back a little bit, walked about halfway around the round pen like that and that was it. He's just wild, who knows what kind of abuse the poor horse has suffered in the past. I feel really sorry for him, but half the people here are scared of him and it's just not working out at all. He is still so upset about Moose being here... he has not stopped sweating, so far as I can see, since Saturday. Does stress make horses sweat? Anyway, the only reason Moose is safe if because Midnight doesn't let Dante near him anymore. He even tried to harass me today at feeding time, but I don't put up with his nonsense and if you aren't afraid of him you can easily make him back off. The trick with him is to prove you are more dominant... and most of the people here can't. My youngest daughter won't even go into the pasture now without being terrified.

It sounds like the best situation for him to go back.

Can I ask where you got him? There was a Dante at the 'rescue' where I got my rescue, companion mare. You can PM me if you don't want to post it here....

No I don't mind saying, I think I've posted the website here before. The name of the rescue is something like HHHRRF... I don't know what it all stands for or even if the initials are right, but I know there are a lot of H's, and I know that the name has something to do with "horse relief and retirement fund." Anyway, the website is www.savethehorses.org
