finally had a good ride on bugsy...had to share

FINALLY! We took Bugsy up to the barn yesterday (his third time this week) and since it was early there was nobody there so we lunged him for a bit, saddled him and I decided to ride him western to see if he still remembered all of the stuff we worked all summer on. AND HE DID! I was very pleased. neck reining...no problem...jogging, no problem, headset, again, no problem. I was very happy. We did w/j/l both directions and in circles and various patterns and he was great. I was totally amazed. To top it off that was my second good ride on him last week. I had a lesson on him Tuesday and we rode English, although, I personally think he likes western better and he's better at it, but that's just me. Of course we forgot the camera to get video so I'm going to remember it for sure next time we go and get some western video of him. Then, after I rode, a friend from the barn rode him English. (She rides him on Saturdays for me since for a while there I wasn't able to ride him...nerves) She w/t/c and the went over a ground pole several times with him in both directions. I expected him to be funny about it, but only on the first time over it did he even do anything and all he did then was stop and look at it. She circled him around and he went over it like a pro. No hesitation at all. Anyway, I just had to share. I was VERY pleased with him. He didn't even toss his head much at all while I was riding. Life is good. lol.
