![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Figure 8 tail knots step-by-step with pics Ok here is how you do figure 8 knots to keep your horses tail up off the ground and help with tail growth. My lovely assistant was 4 yr old Paint gelding Sonnys Clu-"Mr Gelding" ![]() These are the tools you will require. ![]() Start with a clean, brushed out tail. I always shampoo, condition, and spray the horses tail well with show sheen the day before. Then brush it out the next day. Be sure to brush from the bottom of the tail to the top. NEVER brush a wet tail. If the tail is tangled spray with more show sheen or like detangler while you brush. ![]() seperate out a small chunk of your horses tail from the base of the tail bone ![]() form a loop of hair around your hand putting the end of the chunk of tail back over the loop. ![]() then take the end that you passed over the loop back under the top of the chunk of tail ![]() then pull that end from under the tail through the loop you made so that a figure 8 is formed, aka the knot ![]() Last edited by HalterGirl_88; 02-25-2005 at 10:11 AM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | do this about 4-5 times depending on the thickness of the tail and the individual knots, then wrap each knot 4-5 times with vetrap or a like product to keep the knots intact. ![]() ![]() ![]() I actually double knot each chunk since Mr Geldings tail is so long ![]() your finished tail will look like this ![]() Hope that is understandable to everyone, if not I can try to clarify Last edited by HalterGirl_88; 02-25-2005 at 10:14 AM. |
