Ah thanks - then in the UK only children compete in short boots - adults compete in long boots

Field boots do go all the up to your knee and have laces. Dress boots or dressage boots do not have laces. I would say that field boots are only appropriate for hunter/jumper not dressage that is for dress boots.

ps. I think it is really cool that over in jolly ole' England only adults wear the field or dressage boots and children wear the paddock boots with jodphur straps. I think it is so innapropriate when the kids over here are wearing the field boots and they are like nine!!!

i cant ride in long boots at all

i always wear boots an chaps when at home or at a show!

i think if i were to compete at a higher lever not jus local shows then i would have the ankle boots an leather gaiters!

Field boots has laces.. Now I wanted field boots since I am showing hunters but the only ones I could get to fit me right were dress boots, if anything I would go with what fits you the best unless you are competeing grand prix.

Humm....I have field boots. Moostang, let me look at my boots, and find the brand. I have a large calf, and they fit me good.

My problem is a have a big foot but a REALLY slim calf... it shocked the guy at the tack store that measured me.
