There is a Leather Smith by me in Greensburg..

There are a few in VA I can get you the names for .
And yes they will do things via snail mail..
They have fourms you fill out , and you mark the boots..
It is very common, most of these people do hunt tops as well ..

I have heard very good things about Tally-ho..
Ask around on the boards and see what you can find out .

Come to PA for Dressage At Devon..
We can go shopping, the guy by me does
The yummiest chaps too!

Paula

Hmmmmmmm. Okay. But I bet I'm looking at several weeks wait-time, when it's all said and done, right? And school starts, uh....first week of September.

About the only thing I DON'T like about TallyHo boots is the lack of a swagger tab. But that's just cosmetic, anyway. I'd rather have boots that REALLY DID fit me, than ones that made me look like a fool, with some little flap of excess leather hanging off the top. Haha.

I am sure they would be happy to
Add a Swagger for you Erica..

Ask them !
Check Horse and Rider..
Those boots are close to custom
And right off the shelf..

Can you use half chaps and paddocks
Till your boots come?

OOOooooOOOO
So , you got in I take it?
WOOOOOOTIES
*Does the happy dance*
I got the newer Classic II's
From Arait, it looks just like
I have high boots on!

Horse and Rider - all the boots are actually too big in the calf, for me. But they DID say they could do adjustments? I'll contact them and see what's up.

I HAVE THE CLASSIC II'S, TOO! I love them! Everyone compliments me on them, since they do look super nice. Mine are black.

I guess I'm kinda miffed that their half-chaps fit me fine, but they don't make a pair of boots to fit me? Ugh.

YES! I got in! Centenary College, wootski! Now I'm just waiting for the student loans to get worked out.
I think my coach for this semester will let us ride in half chaps. I know MOST of the trainers WON'T, however. Guess I'll find out!

Congrats.
Good on ya Erica..

Your hard work paid off
And you richly deserve to go!

That chaps me as well..
I wonder how much of the
Market they lose!

I am happy for your good news..
I am sure they will understand
If you have to wait on boots..

You mean there are other colours
BESIDES black

Paula

WELL. No one in their right MIND would be seen in black. Boots OR a jacket, for that matter.

if you can find any i suggest maybe trying semi-custom or custom boots? They can get expensive tho, but if you are showing and using them a lot it might be worth it.

Here are some places i found off the web that made some...

http://www.doversaddlery.com/product...t+Order+Form_E_

http://www.vogelboots.com/product_de...ategory_idno=4

http://www.elresero.com/sitio/main.asp?secc=36&id=144

http://www.horseworld.ca/shop.htm# (if u go under rider apparel -tall boots you will find the sergio grasso. Ive heird a lot of good feed back about these boots, definitly something to look at)

Haha, we are exact opposites. I couldn't for the life of me find a replacement for my xtall (22 inchs baby), slim 9.5 Effinghams. Fortunately, I got a pair on ebay, but they will never replace my beloved first pair. It's a sensitive subject.

Anywho, you could always go for a semi-custom. They cost less, and usually have a decent fit. I also wouldn't recommend buying boots and adding a zipper...I've seen that not work out so well a few times.

What about buying a pair of the Ariat ones and having them 'cut down' if they are too high. I've seen that done before...obviously not personally as I need my boots taller, but that could work.

So...the old ones can't be repaired? What brand were they?
