Field Boot Help!

I bought Ariat field boots this past December at a big tack sale and I need to know how to stretch them out a bit in the calves. They are very tight right now and it takes me forever to get them on and off. I have been walking around in them but it's pretty painful. I have my first show of the season next Saturday and I have no clue how I'm supposed to ride in them then. What would be the best options right now since I only have a week to really "break" them in? I only have one more lesson before the show but I could probably *try* riding in them on my mare tomorrow. I heard that there's some kind of product to spray inside of tall boots but what exactly is it called?

Boot Stretch in a can works well otherwise having them professionally stretched.

Oh and I forgot to ask where I get this boot stretch? Is there a specific one for equestrian boots like at tack shops or online?

I always bought the Boot Stretch in a can from Dressage Extensions. However, I was in a rather dire moment not too long ago (broken foot, non-zippered boots, national championship class coming up), so I picked up one of those little bottles of Shoe Stretch that they sell in the shoe polish section almost anywhere - grocery stores, WalMart, etc. Seems to work just fine. I've heard other people swear by rubbing alcohol, though I haven't ever personally tried that.

I did finally break down and buy one of those professional boot stretcher mechanisms a few years ago. That's been a life-saver. They're a little expensive, so I wouldn't necessarily suggest it for most people. (I'm between sizes on the Ariat chart and go through schooling boots every couple of years, so it helps, but I primarily bought it to help out clients with new boots.) For one pair of boots here and there, it would probably make more sense cost-wise to have them professionally stretched, but don't hesitate to do that. It really does help.
