Unhappy Feedlot horses - Urgent help needed!!!!

Hello,
I'm not sure if anyone can help us or not (we do not have nonprofit status yet), but we contacted Frank Carper of Camelot auction in NJ (kill buyer and ships to slaughter) to find out what horses he has awaiting shipment to canada. He told us to check back Thursday but said there will probably be quite a few. I'm trying to come up with funds to save as many as we can. Our paypal email is mddycrkfrm@verizon.net if anyone is able to help. Our website is listed below and that has all of our information on it. Thank You

thats where i got my horses from the night before they were leaving for meat.

theres horses every single week that go to slaughter when not sold. he charges anywhere from 250 - 650 a horse you have to pay what the meat guy offered for each particular horse . he never budges on prices.

most horses, MOST , are all lame or have underlying issues wich explains why they werent sold. some horses there are so sickly its horrible .

good luck.

Thank you for the heads up. This will be our first trip out there. Are you able to go in with the horses to check them out? It's going to be very hard to pick one and not the rest. Not sure how I'm going to be able to handle it yet. Will he tell you what's wrong with the horse?

your not allowed in the pen no you have to eye them from outside the pen and point to the ones you want to pick out. i think he lets you look them up and down real fast if he has a open pen otherwise you go right onto the trailer.

if he truthfully knows whats wrong he'll tell you. most of the horses that dont get sold the papers go in the garbage and he cant even tell you names or ages its redic. but thats the buisness. its quite sad

we left with 8 horses and a pony and left behind 14 horses. the ones left were all severley injured though . I took what i thought i could get homes for. some were beyond repair. its sad to say but horses with wobbles or broken shoulders as some that were there had, wouldent have a chance finding a home , here anyway. its almost impossible to even place a navicular or elderly horse here even for free =[ .

If I had the money I would've taken the other ones just to put them down. I know it isn't Franks fault those horses are there but you cannot be in that business and truly care about them at all. If he would work with me alittle I'd glady post them all on my website to try to find them homes before they shipped. So far we still don't have any funds to go, but we are still holding out hope that someone will be able to lend a hand, or that I can get one of our adopted out before Friday. Do you know what day he ships? Have you been to anyone else's feedlot? I just started the rescue in January and just got incorporated 2 days ago, so I'm still looking for any info I can get.

ive only been to camelot. a friend knows him personally . we went on a saturday with franks permission . meat man collects sunday mornings when there are enough horses. when we took our 9 he didnt come untill the following week so those left over horses probably got re-ran through the auction and maybe got homes. franks a nice guy but hes all about the money. he wouldent negotiate on the prices and look how many we took.
