My first thought? Oh, no, not another Parelli thread. I guess that kind of answers your question. All of the equine evangalists have something good and useful to say somewhere along the line, but IMHO, they are much better at self promotion.

Read them before you go thinking he's 'popular' in a good sense.
Alot of debates going on there, that's why so many long threads.
Some love him, some hate him, some don't care.
IMO as long as you're not abusing the horse-fine.
But don't tell me I'm AM abusing my horse because I don't do what you do
Not one is better than another, just different in their approach-but the same 'pressure/release' is done in most ALL training.

My current favorite method is the one that lets someone else do the hard work. My confidence has been shaken and I don't bounce like I used to.

I honestly do not believe there is any one particular method to horse training. Not every "method" is going to work for every horse. Ahorse is an individual in itself, then add in how he was raised and handled, and how much previous baggage does that horse come with. Watch the horse for a few days, work with him on the ground, see where his mind is at and then go from there. Like some people are better at learning from hands on experience and others learn better from a book, horses are the same way. The process of educating a horse must be adapted to fit each individual horse.

The bottom line is one size does NOT fit all.

I don't think there is one that I like better than the other. The type of training I am against is any type that harms or abuses the horse. Different methods work for different horses. It depends on the horse and the horse's mindset.
