Question False tails in hacking

Are they necassary in the hacking ring??? I went to a hack show yesterday to watch my friend and all the horses had false tails I know I cant afford one right now so will I look stupid going in the ring with a thin tail... yeah I reckon I will

I want to enter a hack show next month but poor Denzell's tail is nothing to be proud of

Anyway... Thanks

i wouldnt bother! if you dont put it in properly they fall out and look funny 2 much work for me! Maybe try washing it and trimming it and putting it in a tail bag

You may think you would seem stupid going into the ring with a poor tail, but hey, atleast it's REAL! LOL! I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Since when did tails become the focal point of a horse show? IMO, like TC said, just wash it, trim it and maybe braid it or ribbons in it.

some of them look really fake too- i was standing next to a person last week at a show- she was a spectater just there to watch the horses- she asked me why didnt this one QH have his tail "brushed out " like the others- there were burdocks in it- i looked and it wasnt burdocks - it was the fake tail - it looked really poor- some of the others there did too- id go anyway- there must be judges that want the real deal - if they dont you have fun and get some practice anyhow-

Hehe my friends false tail fell out at her last show... too funny Yeah they are way expensive for what you get, lol. Thus why I wonder if I need one.

A hack show, how to describe it... it is like a show that shows of your horse, lol... I cant really describe it properly but there is led classes and ridden classes and the judge desides which horse is the best, behaved, conformed, which moves the best etc Hope that cleared it up for you
