I would recommend you to get a fake tail, especially with showing. As mentioned earlier, it sounds like you probably need a 1/2 pound one.

I honestly find them silly looking. Some horses they don't blend well into the tail of the horse. It looks like a bottom heavy bob jiggling around when the horse moves. I can understand trimming a horse's tail to look nice and even. I dunno. Some of the things done in showing are sure questionable.

Hate to tell you dear Erika but that's a crock. Many things are natural with horses it's just we as humans like to alter things. We don't always do things in the brightest way either. That seems to show in any showring of any breed. Back to things being questionable about procedure and fads. Are they really necessary...

I would invest in one but becuase you say your horses tail is to its hocks youll need to wait till it grows out a bit. Becuase if you put one in now, youll get the "christmas tree" affect
