i work horses all the time and always get my nails done. I have always had acrylics and have never had them turn funky colors or anything like that.
They don't make it hard to work the horses? I'm afraid of catching one and it hurting really bad! Lol
it also gives a whole new meaning to "riding in on a broomstick!!"~dpcinderella
SO this is the new "Rule of thumb"
Well, there's no harm in looking at the menu.....no one said you had to order!

Rest In Peace Gamine de la Lande, thank you for teaching me everything I know... 04.04.1996 - 23.05.2010 ... 25.12.2009 - Satin Du Lirou comes into my life, the start of a new journey...
it just depends on if you have a good nail tech, bc ive had them break and come off a lot when ive had them before but then i found someone new and shes AMAZING. have yet to have one break or anything. i keep mine pretty short and have never gotten them caught or scratched my saddle cuz i keep the tips filed down so there is no scratchy points and i dont have trouble with any buckles or anything. my nails got hurt and tore off more when i didnt have them. Ive had the same nails on since dec.. meaning none have come off or anything just that theyve grown out and ive had them filled.

From head to tail the Border Collie is all dog, and pure dog, fashioned by nature and wise men for a useful purpose and thirled to its traditions by the very validity of its ancient and honorable calling.
I get the pink and whites, and have them filed down VERY VERY short. However, they are a VISCIOUS cycle, because you have to continue getting them filled, otherwise your nails turn to paper.
I actually find that they scratch less, because they are far less jagged than natural nails, so no worry about scratching tack! I only get my nails done because otherwise I bite my cuticles and I just think it looks so unprofessional at work with gross fingers
I go to Walgreens and just pay $5-$7 for the fake nails and glue them on myself. They come in real short lengths to short, medium, long, extra long. They only really last about 7 days, and usually just pop right off on their own if I hit them to hard. I have yet to rip off a real nail with them, and I've been wearing them for about 8 months.
I started wearing them because my job destroyed my natural nails (first week, I broke each nail on both hands, twice). So the fake glue on ones are tough enough not to chip or break, but if I do hit one hard enough, I don't really injure myself. And if I keep to the short ones, I don't have to worry about popping them off when I ride. I had some trouble with the medium length ones when it came to buckling the girth on an english saddle (C likes to blow), but that was all. And again, they only cost about $7 dollars after tax, they are already painted, have everything you need to do them yourself (glue, file, multiple sized nails, etc). It only takes me about half an hour to put them on, taking my time, and if I really wanted to, I could repaint them.
I usually stick to a white or black french tip, sometimes pearl, or with flowers. I haven't noticed any discoloration. The box advertises a salon uv gel effect. The paint doesn't chip, and I can get them in a square tip. It is much better than paying $40, which I used to pay for the gels at a salon, and they ripped my nails off if I broke them, and they broke easy (I'd break a nail just hitting my turn signal switch on accident when driving).
everyday i'm shufflin.
whenever she first did them they were the tips and they never discolored but now that theyve grown out its just the acrylic put over the top of my nail
