Fair price, custom halters?

I made this halter for Tiff, because I just couldn't find one that I liked in the style I wanted.

I wanted the 3/4 inch nylon and I wanted the brass hardware with ribbon detail.

What is a fitted halter like this worth?

Would you buy one?

I have access to lots of different nylons, hardware options and a bunch of ribbons.

Is it better to take orders for stuff like this, or make some ready to go?

Just thinking out loud.

Did you glue or sew the ends to the hardware?

So, if you did sell these... would you custom fit them to the horse or have preset sizes? Guess what I'm saying is... how custom is custom

Thats very cool H! I would buy one!! I think you should have a couple pre-mades for people who will just buy "off the shelf" but also take special orders. Charge an extra $5 or so for custom orders.....

It's all machine stitched and reinforced.

The one in the picture is made to fit Tiffany, I was figuring I could offer the same custom fit for anyone who wanted to order one.

I was also thinking of doing some that are sort of the typical, pony, cob, horse, full size type.

Very nice Heather!! I'm super impressed!

I think that having some 'ready made' in popular colors would be a good idea (you might think about adding an adjustable noseband as an option), and charge a few bucks extra for custom like Kim suggested. I can tell you that I would be interested after I have money for fun horse stuff again (after shots and hay are paid for LOL)

I think you should just start a mini store. Even an online store or something like that and sell all the neat little horsey things that you make. I'm sure HGS would be one of your main customers!!

As for the halter... A regular halter in that style is ~ $18. The cost for your special ones would need to take into consideration of your time, the materials and then of course a profit. They are unique... its hard to find a thinner halter that isn't a rope one.

I like them... and yes I would buy one.

Awesome! I think you would do really well selling them. Plus Tiffany is such a gorgeous model...how can anyone not like it. lol!

Start a business and get all the tax perks that come with it. That's what I'm doing.
