Failed Attempt At Braiding

Ok, so I was bord so I braided Duke's tail. Now, keep in mind I have NEVEr braided a tail before, and I have no idea how to go about it. I just braided the layers and di braid inside of braid inside of braid, ect. Yeah. It really looks better in the pic than up close. And even the pic shows its horrificness. but its funny to look at.

It takes a lot of practice! It also helps to use some gel or something to hold the hairs together. If you're trying to do a hunter braid, just use really small sections of hair from the underside of the tail and pull tight every time you make a plait. You will get better over time!

Now, is plait the part where you put a section over another or.. like is it regular braiding, or is "plait" a special thing?

LOL he has a little tuft at the top of his tail cus he rubs it and its too shortto braid LOL

Very good first attept....starting the french braid is the hardest if your horse has those short dock hairs. But if you practice it will eventually come....

That is a good start at a hunter style braid, it does take practice, one day when I have someone to take pictures for me, I am going to do a step by step pictorial of how do braid tails, in several styles, and do fancy mud tails, and also 2 styles of braiding manes, I used to be a show groom , and braid, manes and tails, for cash, it payed for my entry fees at the shows....it takes practice and strong fingers! lol Cathy

Nearly there, it take ALOT of practice to get them just right! I trim Charlies tail to avoid having to braid it, hehe
