Explain this

I have a 25 yr old Thoroughbred. Some nights when I feed he looks ribby but the next morning he doesn't. Or some mornings he'll look ribby but that night he doesn't. He's on Senior feed twice a day as per bag instructions for maintenance (he's mostly a lawn ornament) and pasture 24/7. It is driving me crazy. Sometimes his weight seems perfect then in the same day he can look under weight. Is it like somedays being able to wear the skinny jeans and others are fat jean days?

It most likely is the way he is standing when you look at him or the angle you are looking at him from. Plus if he's getting 2 big meals of senior he is going to look more "full" after eating and for a while then he will right before his next meal.

Water weight

Likely at least partially caused by his feed.

What brand of feed and how much are you feeding him?
