Today is a very sunny,cold/windy day. It got down in the 20's last night and froze area-wide. My sister just called me @ work to say "Sheba is laying down" . Sheba rarely suns herself..especially in cold windy weather. She has bagged up MUCH more now and we are pretty sure that we will have a foal within the next 5 days.

How exciting!!! Sheba is just stunning!!! I can't wait to see pics of her baby.

You'll have a good chance for a Buckskin! I love buckskins!!!

Sheba is definately palomino, so was born palomino. When palomino's are born looking chestnut, it usually ='s a very dark adult palomino. True in your mare's case... Mine was born the color of straw and on his darkest day is nowhere near the color of your mare. He's almost white right now...

My friend has a Palomino filly from last year that looked chestnut as a foal...
Here she is to give you an idea... mom is a liver chestnut and daddy was a cremello

Well she is bagged up, still soft, eating plenty, and acting herself.

She is a maiden mare.. and our suspense is insane

What are the chances of her foaling w/out showing any more signs since its her 1st?

Will we even see waxing or will she just pop?

one of my families' mare was maiden foaled on Sept. 1st, 2007 she didn't wax or give any signs she was going to foal when we went to feed them the next morning we had another foal, our other mare an experienced mother had foaled 4 days before that, she showed signs she was kicking at her belly turning and looking at her sides biting at her sides laying down getting up and we were expecting a foal that night and we got one and she is a pretty palomino named Sunshine (sucha sweety) our Sept 1st foal is a gorgeous buckskin named Buckshot

I am wondering if this mare, Sheba, has foaled yet. I have been away for a while and I hoped that I hadn't missed it.
