Called vet school this morning. They have bone scan scheduled for 11:00 and then another at 2 pm. Hopefully hear something this afternoon or first thing in morning with that. I am anxious for the bloodwork to come back as well. He said they will take more blood tomorrow and then send it all out, so won't know anything about that until next week. UGH!

Neorologist speciaist feels there is damage/trauma to sensory nerve - that it is hypersensitive (thus why cold water sends him into an episode).

They are testing for cushings but don't really think that is it, but want to rule that out. (he has some symptoms of that).

That is the problem with him - he seems to have symptoms of this and that but nothing is "textbook".

Hopefully I can post some results tomorrow for you.

I'm so glad you took this guy to the vet school! There are just so many options available there and so much collective knowledge available rather than 1 person trying to put a name to something so odd.

Just try to get some rest and relax a bit. You can bet that he's getting lots of good care and attention from the students.

Hello all,
O.K. this morning I talked with vet. As I told you yesterday they had done a Bone Scan along with Soft Tissue Phase(Scan). It found a slight decreased blood flow to the right leg (the troubled leg). That definitely makes sense considering his spasms.
Today they are doing a Dexamethasone Depression Test – to measure hormones (to rule out or not Cushings Disease). They also plan to do an Ultrasound to follow the blood flow along with a Dopler Flow Test to measure the AMOUNT of blood flowing. These tests will be administered by their specialist, which is good in one way but not in another in that it may be Monday before they can do it. (they do both large and small animals and are very busy).
The results from the CBC & Chemistry Panel they did yesterday showed NO infection, liver, kidney functions all good. Electrolites good.
They still have him in a padded cell, I mean stall. UGH! Said he had a bad day yesterday. Poor guy! I am planning on going back down Monday & Tuesday.

Remember hon, you are no good to him if your body falls apart on you. Be good to YOU too!
Keeping all of you in my thoughts.

At least his blood tests came back negative for infections, that's one less thing you'll need to worry yourself about! And you know they're trying to do their best to get at the bottom of this as quickly as they can.
I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers!

Well, I'm glad your getting a few answers. A few answers are better then sitting there wondering.

Let them do their work and just take some time to sit on your butt- go out to dinner just you and your husband or something.

Or, if your like me.... go see Shay, drag your husband with you, brush Shay till he WANTS you to leave- then make your husband take you to dinner and have a wonderful night. Youll have the comfert of being close to Shay if you want to go see him real quick and still the entertainment and safefy of your husband
