Question english/western horsemanship

biggs first show (this sunday) is at a low kety place, just local and pretty quiet, they have english & western events, were doing all the flat eq classes, crossrails and probably 2 foot...were also going to do the country pleasure classes(were doing so much cause its not to crowded and only 6$) and i was looking at the wschedule and theres 1 english/western horsemanship class, i did one last year but i don't remember the pattern or anything, what are the patterns usually like? im just going to work with biggs on it until sunday cause hes never done one before, i just figured itd be a fun experiment...

It depends...sometimes there is no pattern, and there's just railwork.

Some patterns from recent shows were:

1. Jog/trot to first cone, jog/trot a circle to the right, lope/canter a smaller circle to the left, simple lead change, stop and back four steps

2. jog/trot to first cone, lope/canter circle to right, jog/trot to second cone, halt

3. jog/trot to first cone, extend trot halfway to second cone, stop, turn 360 on the forehand, lope/canter to the left on the correct lead, then lope a straight line away, stop, and back 4 horse lengths

4. jog/trot to first cone, sidepass four strides to the right, then 4 strides to the left, lope/canter left lead to halfway between first and second cone, then simple lead change. Continue to second cone, stop and back

That should give you some ideas...

OH. You have correct SS attire for both horse and rider in the CEP class, right? It ALWAYS ****** me highly to see someone dressed for huntseat with huntseat tack in a SS class!
