So I was stupid and went on a 2 hour trail ride in short-short's while riding

in a leather english saddle . I was not thinking. Well, take my boo boo

as a warning to you all to NOT ride in short's in an English saddle.

Well from the cantering and galloping, the leather rubbed my leg raw,

leaving a nice little Devil's kiss on me It sting's soooo bad, if anything touch's it it HURTS!

I have only ridden bareback with shorts I didn't get ny marks though it just hurts to get thier little hairs poking your legs all over

i ride english alot in shorts.. but.. i always wear my tall boots

That happens too me whenever I ride in jeans w/o half chaps. I still have some scars from the last time I did it! I try to avoid it but sometimes I just can't help it...

That never happens to me! I have no idea why, maybe I just have tuff skin? heehee

Ouch! I've tried riding in an English saddle in a dress and I only went a few strides and had a faint red mark on my leg. The next day there were little bruises around that area.

If you ride in shorts than put on half chaps!

ouch that has to hurt. i have rode in shorts, but haven't had that problem yet.

When it's warm, I ride in shorts and tennies almost all the time in both Dressage and jump saddles and I've never gotten a sore from doing it. It's a good way to see how steady/secure your legs are.
