Well first things first.
Have you ridden english before? You have to have good solid flat work before even thinking about jumping. What is your experience level?

Your best bet if you want to show is to find a hunter/jumper or show jumper barn and take some lessons with a trainer. They can teach you how to do it safely and correctly, and they will know where the shows are and prepare you for them.

I agree with that they have said ^^^. just try to find a barn or at least a trainer that can work with you to start jumping!

Yes, make sure you know what your doing before you take an unexperienced(?) horse over any type of jump!

Have your flat work like 80 or above percent perfect before you start jumping...ride an easy horse when your learning because you don't want to fall off or anything. The kinds of shows you can do are just like stadium...showjumping, all sorts of different hunter shows..jumper shows...lots of shows you can go in for riding english.
