English Apparel...

Hey guys, I have a question.
I'm taking my first english lesson tommorow - is it OK to go in jeans and half-chaps? (Or is this kindof unacceptable?) I don't have breaches, and I just thought of it tonight. What do you guys ride in just casually? Thanks for any tips. (This is such a loser post - LOL)

I see nothing wrong witht hat. I used to always wear my breeches to my lessons when I was younger, but in my teens (lol I feel old) I wore jeans alone or jeans and half chaps, with an acceptable pair of paddock boots.

OK! Thanks. Are "acceptable" paddock boots just like normal boots? (As in... Ariats?) Not cowboy type - lace up. (sorry... I have seriously never been exposed to much english riding!)

Yep, that's right. These are paddock boots.

There are many different styles. You'll look fine, it's not a fashion show remember.

Ok... sounds good. Just want to make sure I'm not going to make a terrible first impression - one of those, "she TOLD me she had ridden for a long time!" type of things. It's just akward - sometimes rodeo and other types of riding (hunter!) seem to have nothing in common, LOL. Like, I was talking to a girl who told me that her barn didn't let anyone ride w/o chaps - I was like... whoa!
Where I'm at, we ride in like... sweatpants on occasion. LOL

If it's just a lesson you should be fine in jeans and paddock boots like that. That's what I still ride in, and I've been taking english lessons for close to two years now! I have breeches, but they fit oddly. You should be fine! Oh, and have fun!

They really shouldnt care if you wear jeans or breeches sence its only your first lesson. if they want you to wear a certain thing they will probaly tell you at your lesson for next time.
