Embarrassing pony moment!!!

Hahahaha I am embarrassed to be posting this, but it is too good not to share.

Today I decided to hop on my pony for some fun riding. I am planning to take him to a fun show next friday to have a good time. It is a very lowkey show with fun games like barrels, poles, a balloon race, egg/spoon, dollar bareback, etc. and the best part .. only $8 a class!!

So i decided to get on the little munchkin and give it a go and just do a few pole and barrel patterns so he isnt totally clueless when we get there. Needless to say he was having a BALL! we were trotting them and cantering home. Not a big deal but just fun. Then i decided to give dollar bareback a go. He is a cubby little guy so hes a very comfy bareback ride. However I am 5'6 and he is just shy of 12hh .. so needless to say it is quite a funny sight to see me on him. But he is plenty hefty enough to carry me and i am only 102lb. He really enjoys being ridden too, so I like to work him as often as I can (which is only about 3-4 times a week if i am lucky)

Well he gets happy feet sometimes and lets out a few "WEEEEEEEEEEE!" bucks to show how happy he is. Not a big deal, I normally am ready for them and can handle it (he is so small sometimes he just disappears ). So I think you guys know where I am going with this ... lol ... so I have the dollar under my thigh and all is good ... we are cantering along and then all of a sudden he popped up and then he sorta put on the breaks cause he felt me come forward (he is such a good boy .. if he feels you off balance he goes back down to a walk .. cant ask anything better of a coming 4yro) .. well He stopped .. I didnt. I slid right up his neck and over his head! But are you ready for the best part ...

I landed on my feet!!!!! haha It was hysterical! i landed on my feet and sorta just stumbled forward. I about died laughing. I turn around and poor flash is looking at me like "mom how did you get there?" and just the look of utter shock on his face. And the best part .. he has a mouthful of grass and the dollar sticking out of his mouth haha that is just so him! So i jumped to him and tried to get the dollar out but he munched it up pretty good (RIP dollar)

but all is okay .. i hopped back on and he was awesome ;]
so does anyone else have embarrassing pony moments?

It's a good thing it wasn't a $20. I think we all like to say our horses eat our money, or we may as well line their stalls with money, or blanket them with money...never thought one would actually eat money. Heh.

I love falling off ponies...it usually ends well.

once me and my friend were riding this little POA bareback in the arena and she's trotting him over a pole and he bucks, she slides off and does a belly flop. Everyone including her pretty much died of laughing, too bad I missed it

after reading that, I guess it probably was a "you kinda had to be there moment"...

I'm glad you had a good ride, your pony sounds adorable, any pictures?

Lol that is awesome, if only you caught it on film or something XD

I was working out my boyfriend's niece's pony so he could be mellow before she started riding him (his niece is 3, so he needs to be REALLY mellow). Problem is, he's 10 years old and really frisky. He's also barely 12 hands so he's really flexible and like a worm.

So I went to the arena at him and all the other people were barrel racing their horses. I took him around once and he seemed to get the hang of it. The second time we were running at a good pace, we were at the first barrel and suddenly...

he shoots off the complete other direction and I slide off with my foot stuck in the stirrup and I yanked his reins shouting "STOP!! STOP!!!!!!" So I get pulled around the arena about 20 feet and needless to say I had dirt up everywhere. He finally stopped and looked at me like "what're you doing on the ground? Are you like, retarded or something?" =P
