So.....Ely will be a gelding as of next week and.........he is going to WORLDS at the end of October!! Lots of thought and reasons went into this and best choice all around. I feel good about it...the cards just seemed to all fall in place for this given all of the optortunities he and I will have.

WOW I'm sure it was a tough choice. I'm still rolling around the idea of gelding my guy so I know a little of your pressure. I'm leaning 80% towards gelding as of today we'll see what the spring brings. BTW See you in Texas In October! I hope he does do really well. I'm going to come out and see what I can learn and add to my bag of tricks. I am still a little chicken about putting my horses out there until I get more educated on what is the most desired characteristics of the Appaloosa that are winning the points.

We should. Will you be there the entire week? I can only get out there on the weekends. But I'm only about an hour and a half away just off of I-287 heading west from Dallas. I would love to see you show him. Will you be bringing others? Ok LOL now I sound like a freaky little stalker LOL Can you tell there's not a lot of Appaloosa breeders around my area. Ok I'll stop being weird now and PM you later LMAO LOL

I think you made an incredibly fantastic (But yet also incredibly tough) decision... I suspect this will really launch your farm name in the Appy world for you! BEST of luck at Worlds!!!!!!!

Awww, I'm a little sad since Ely is really a gorgeous guy and I bet he would grow up to be a gorgeous stallion as well.

But kudos to you for making a tough decision. I wish more breeders did what you did.

And hopefully Ely will do extremely well and soon you'll have a younger sibling of his to take his place in the breeding world that's even better than him.
