Elk Grove Stable Mix?

I can't seem to find anything in other posts about this feed. My old BO has started useing it in place of LMF and equine Senior. I was considering switching to Enrich, but am tending to shy away from Purina now.
Does anyone have any experiance with this feed?

I would assume. I have never fed LMF. I am mostly wanting a feed that will keep the weight up on my mare and to possibly mix in a suppliment for my others. I have the label off of it. Ummm ... Somewhere, I had it here a minute ago! Anyway, I think it has a few vitamins and minerals in it, just not quite as much as some of the other ration balancers (I don't really understand what a ration balancer is, to me there is grain and pellets, and pellets that have vitamins in it and some that don't).

We've discussed it a couple of times. I know that I was involved in at least one of the threads. You might do a search for EGS instead of spelling it out.

The problem with this line is that it's a complete feed line. And it's not one of those 'omg that's a great formulation' complete feed lines. Iow, it's not very useful if you're not feeding it as a complete feed (or close to it).

Now, they do have a couple of formulations that aren't complete feeds. But I don't think I've ever looked at those exclusively.

They do not have a ration balancer or anything close to one. All of their feeds are designed to be fed in relatively high amounts to extremely high amounts.

The exceptions to that (as far as feeding amounts) are Ultra Stable Mate and Stable Mate. Purina Enrich would be far superior nutritionally to either of those products.

Which formulation is your BO using?

she is feeding the stable mix, and she feeds probably 3 to 4 scoops a day depending on the horse, I'm not really sure. The instructions say to feed 1-1/2 to 2 lbs per 100 Lbs of the horses body weight per day. I never feed as much as the directions say in any feed that I feed. Even equine senior and rice bran.
