We use DAC electrolytes. it's available in a powder and paste formula and we're also carrying Horse Quencher now. It's new to us but can see good benefits of it. http://www.horsequencher.com/Video.asp

His diet is the same as all of my other horses and I have never had any problems with them. It just was so weird, I think he still has not acclimatized to our weather here as it was one of the horses I got from Mary. He still has considerable coat on him for our high 80 to 90 degree weather already. The vet gave me some other stuff to give him if I am going to ride him for any amount of time that will help and I am to brush brush and brush more. I have never done any type of bodying clipping but am going to see if someone I know can clip him for me. I appreciate all of the input and will look into the brands listed, thanks for the help everyone.

What had happened was he was ridden for about 20 mins mostly walking, a few trot and lope circles, and then tied to my trailer at a play day. when I finnished riding I offered him water that he readily drank. I tied him up he had a hay bag. I went to leave about 2.5 3 hours later, offered him water again and he drank. I then on the way home went by my trainer's house and rode him 30 mins, nothing hard at all, walked around the arena working on disengaging the hindquarters. I was asking my trainer about doing flying lead changes, he was talking to me for about 15 mins while we were standing there and then I asked the horse to go and he would not. I got him going, which was odd because he normally is pretty quick off your leg, and then he stopped again. I knew something was wrong. I got down, he just look tired. We, trainer and I thought he might be dehydrated and he was. I took him in, he was not even hot or sweated, gave him some water and put him in a stall. I took him out about 15 mins and hosed him down. I called Mary and the vet and they both recommended since the feed stores where closed and I could not get anything else to give him pedialyte. I mixed in 2 bottles, quart size in some feed and gave it to him since he was not drinking. I stayed to watch him and around 1:30 am he tyed up. Very scary for me. I pulled the truck up by the stall and stayed/sleeped in the truck all night. At 7:30 in the morning I loaded him up, came home and checked on the my other horses and went to the vet. The vet tubed him and put fluid in him and gave him some shots. He said I need to give him electrolytes everyday, gave me some other stuff if I ride, which I don't plan too for a while, till I know he is better and said brush the hide off of him. He felt that it was just too hot and with the coat he still has he overheated. I know I did not ride him that much, and had ridden him much harder on previous days. If it was on a scale of 1 to 10 on how much work he did I would say a 3 if that. It was weird. So like I said any help that I can get I am very appreciative for. He has been doing fine and a pinch test is back to normal now. I had to pick up some sort of electrolytes right away and they only thing they had here in town was this: http://www.ascendgel.com/performance.htm
I am not crazy about it and would prefer something that someone has used and knows more about it. So thank you guys very much for the input.

PM me your address and I'll send you a baggy of the DAC electrolytes to try. It would be enough for a few weeks!
