    Question Eldonian Saddle?

I got an email from a lady selling her Eldonian Saddle. I searched the saddle on Google and didn't find much info. Can anyone help me? She has it listed for $75 but said she'll take $30. Don't worry, I will make sure the tree isn't broken.

I have an Eldonian cutback saddle and it is very nice quality. I've only seen a few of them in person but they have all been well-made. I would be cautious about the price, leads me to believe that there is something wrong with the saddle but I guess you wouldn't loose a lot of money if that is the case. I think people don't know the brand well enough to trust buying it so the saddles sell for much less than what they are worth. I got my little cutback (kids size) in mint condition for $100 shipped. I would easily pay three times the price for a saddle as nice as mine!

I got a picture this morning and the saddle says Michael J. Knoud polo and hunting saddle.

I'll look at the saddle and have a friend who know more about saddles look at it also.

Aponi06, I have the same saddle, Michael J. Knoud, it has been in the family for decades and from what I've read it may be very valuable. My grandfather owned an Arabian horse farm and collected such antiques, from what he said it appraised for $4500 about 10 years ago but couldn't find the papers to prove it when he passed. Does anybody else have any more information on this Polo Hunting saddle?

Knoud Saddlery was located in new York City, on Madison Avenue. http://nhrexracers.proboards.com/ind...y&thread=30973

Miller's, Kauffman's, Knoud's -- Those were the big NYC tack stores.
